Kona Tea Party Mission Statement

The mission of the Kona Tea Party (KTP) is to promote, teach, and implement the principles of liberty given to us by our founding fathers in the United States Constitution.  We support candidates, legislation, initiatives, civil actions and community service that will influence and accomplish this task. Starting in Kona and expanding to Hawaii County, the State of Hawaii and the United States of America, we seek to encourage Americans to think, act and vote in support of these principles.

About the Kona Tea Party

KTP members are a diverse group ethnically, religiously, economically and politically.  We hold in common our love of Hawaii, our Country and a commitment to the U.S. Constitution as the supreme law of the land, and a belief in the principles of liberty stated in the Declaration of Independence on which our Constitution was founded.

We stand for limited government, personal responsibility, free markets, individual liberty and American exceptionalism. We believe that the United States of America, though imperfect and having made mistakes past and present, is the world’s greatest country and source of good. We believe that Hawaii’s gift to the world is the Aloha Spirit passed down to our ethnically diverse population through the rich cultural heritage of the native Hawaiian people. The Hawaii state motto, “Ua Mau Ke Ea O Ka Aina I Ka Pono” (the Life of the Land is Perpetuated in Righteousness) is perhaps the most beautiful, moving and meaningful of the 50 states.

We believe that actions speak louder than words. Therefore, we are committed to serving the Kona community and Hawaii Nei in a variety of ways, consistent with our core principles.

The KTP is not a political party, not affiliated with any political party and does not seek to become one. Members may personally be Republican, Democrat, Libertarian or Independent. We support candidates, legislation, initiatives and civil actions that promote liberty as delineated in the U.S. Constitution. We stand against candidates, legislation, initiatives and civil actions that do not.

Membership is open to all who share these core beliefs. E komo mai.
